Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Mira Schneiders is a postdoctoral researcher within the Bioethics & Engagement Department at the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) within Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health. Mira works on addressing ethical problems related to the scientific research that MORU undertakes, including around antimalarial resistance, malaria human challenge studies and most recently, Covid-19. These projects are usually multi-country and multidisciplinary.

Mira is responsible for conducting ethics and engagement research, coordinating qualitative research across multiple sites, as well as providing ethics training and support to clinical research studies. In her role as Senior Research Fellow within the Global Health Bioethics Network (GHBN), she collaborates closely with the Ethox Centre at the University of Oxford and other ethics, social science and engagement departments within the Wellcome Africa Asia Programmes in South East Asia and Africa. Mira obtained her PhD (DPhil) in Global Health at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford in 2020.
