HORIZON: Global Health Research and Innovation – call for proposals. Deadline: 4 March 2026 (Forecast)

The 2026 Global Health EDCTP3 calls for proposals will support four research and innovation action (RIA) topics aimed at tackling tuberculosis, lower respiratory tract infections, HIV and climate-change-driven infectious diseases. 

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-01-HIV-03-two-stage: Global collaboration action towards better prevention, treatment and clinical management of HIV co-infections or co-morbidities in sub-Saharan Africa.  

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-01-LRTI-02-two-stage: Global collaboration action for prevention and treatment of Lower Respiratory Tract Infections in sub-Saharan Africa.  

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-01-TB-01-two-stage: Global collaboration action for the development of TB drugs for therapy and chemoprophylaxis in adults and children in sub-Saharan Africa.  

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-02-CH-01-two-stage: Global collaboration action on climate and health in sub-Saharan Africa. 

 Amount and Deadline

• Award maximum per project: €5 million to €10 million 

• The calls for proposals will open by mid-January 2026. 

• Closing date: 4 March 2026 (first stage)

Calls are also open for two coordination and support action (CSA) call topics to support training and capacity-building activities in the following two areas:  

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-03-SERP-01: Training and innovation networks for sustained capacity development related to ethics, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and related digital regulatory platforms.  

• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-03-DIGIT-02: Enhancing integrated research and healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa through digital innovation and Artificial Intelligence.  

 Amount and deadline

• Maximum award per project: €1,500,000 to €2,250,000 

• Closing date: 31 August 2026 (Forecast) (Single stage)
