About

This scheme supports academically led translational research to progress innovative health interventions towards patient benefit or commercialisation. Funding is available for projects at any stage – from early development through pre-clinical work to early-phase clinical trials – across all disease areas. The scheme supports a wide range of outputs, including therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, digital health, and other interventions that improve health or accelerate intervention development.

Criteria

  • No fixed funding limit (80% full economics costs covered)
  • The call is expected to open 2 July 2026, with multiple annual deadlines (March, July, November).
  • Criteria: employment at a research organisation eligible for MRC funding.
