FAIRness in academic publishing: dataset
Matthews P.
This xls file contains the results of two questionnaires that were designed to explore and collect opinions from academics and publishers about academic publishing. Questionnaires were designed and circulated using SurveymonkeyTM 1. Questionnaire to academics: The questionnaire to academics was available on-line for ten days (31st August-9th September 2016). This questionnaire was circulated via two mailing lists at the University of Oxford (UK): the Peter Medawar Building for Pathogen Research, and Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School. We also posted a link to the survey on social media (Facebook and Twitter). The results were used to inform a talk and discussion at the Annual Conference of the ALPSP (Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers), September 2016. 2. Questionnaire to publishing industry: Following the ALPSP meeting, a related questionnaire was circulated via the ALPSP mailing list to capture some of the resulting discussion from this meeting. We also posted a link to the survey on social media (Facebook and Twitter). The questionnaire to publishers was available on-line for ten days (26th September-5th October 2016) The datasets can also be accessed in the form of slides from F1000 using the following links: https://f1000research.com/slides/5-2286, doi: 10.7490/f1000research.1113114.1 (academics) https://f1000research.com/slides/5-2617, 10.7490/f1000research.1113362.1 (publishers) Here is the citation for the opinion article that has arisen from this body of work: Matthews PC.
