microPRIME is a population microsimulation model used to predict myocardial infarction incidence, event and prevalence rates in England. Estimates are based on trends in underlying risk factors (body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking and diabetes) and in treatment. All myocardial infarction rates emerge from the model (i.e. are endogenous). Full details for the model are provided in the document 'microPRIME description.docx' within this depository. The data included here are data required to operate the microPRIME model that are not openly available in other repositories. The R scripts required to run the model are also provided. Note that none of the data were collected primarily for this project. The microPRIME model runs entirely on secondary data that have originally been published elsewhere.
