Companion work on the design of envelope-constrained filters is extended and shown to provide an easily implementable adaptive filter with a structure quite similar to that of other adaptive filters based on least-squares techniques. Behavior of the new filter in noise is examined, and a variety of other extensions are discussed. An application to TV channel equalization is explored in some detail. © 1977, IEEE.
