The problem of direct adaptive control subject to a control rate constraint is considered. Theoretical results concerned with the system boundedness and control tracking properties are presented. These results require a finite gain stability condition of the associated non-adaptive control system. The results are applied to a stable plant. © 1988 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
