The PDA algorithm is increasingly gaining acceptance as a technique for tracking targets in a cluttered environment. In this paper we have extended the standard PDA algorithm to incorporate track initiation as an integral component. We have shown by computer simulation that the new integrated (IPDA) performs better than earlier forms of PDA. Finally we have considered the problem of implementation on an SIMD massively parallel supercomputer and carried out a successful implementation on the MasPar MP-1.
